Andhericha Raja Ganpati Pandal is one of the most famous pandals in Mumbai. The Samiti has been around since 1956, and devotees have thronged to the suburban Ganpati Pandal ever since. Andhericha Raka sees a lot of traffic during the Ganpati festival. Andhericha Raja is famous for its various themes, which is a continued tradition since at least 2008. If you plan to visit the Pandal, plan to leave in the early morning and complete the darshan only after late afternoon or early evening.
How to reach Andhericha Raja Ganpati Pandal
From Western Line
The Pandal is in Andheri West at Azar Nagar II. The Andheri Station to Andheri cha Raja distance is ~3 KM. Andheri is on the Western Line and is well-connected to other parts of the city. From Andheri Station, you take the Metro to Azad Nagar and then it’s a short walk to Andhericha Raja. If you prefer the bus, there are several that pass through Azad Nagar, like 235, 232.
From Central Line
For those in the Central Line, take a train that connects you to Dadar. Get down at Dadar Station, cross the platforms to catch a train to Andheri Station. Take the Metro from Andheri Station to Azad Nagar.
History of Andhericha Raja Ganpati
Andhericha Raja, like every other Ganpati Pandal, has a rich history. According to the official website, the Pandal started after a strike at one of the mills in Mumbai. A mill worker, who lived here, prayed to Lord Ganesha to lift the strike and his wishes were fulfilled. Since then, Lord Ganesha’s idol is immersed on every Sankhasthi Day.

- The popular Mumbai Ganpati Pandal sees several devotees over the week. If you plan to visit the Ganpati Pandal, plan to spend at least half a day away from home.
- Azad Nagar is connected to Andheri via Metro; make use of that.
- Andhericha Raja darshan timings are 8 AM to 10 PM
- Keep ample change with you. While UPI is gaining precedence, you might find the odd auto-rickshaw that doesn’t transact in UPI
- There’s no need to carry water or other essentials. The Azard Nagar area has several general stores where you can buy water and other essentials.
